Saxby Chambliss for Senate

There are three U.S. Senate elections that still need to be decided, and we’re three votes away from the Democrat party having a filibuster proof majority. Since the Minnesota and Alaska re-counts are chock full o’ shenanigans and more shenanigans, I decided to throw some money behind Saxby Chambliss, the incumbent Georgia senator that has a run off election set for December 2nd. And I have to say, I’ve been impressed purely from a technical standpoint so far.

For starters, I’ve gotten an e-mail from Sen. Chambliss every day. I know all campaigns send out tons of e-mails, but these are different…they aren’t asking me for more money! These e-mails are just to let me know how the campaign is going, where you can see Sen. Chambliss on the news, who’s going to be in town campaigning with him, etc.

When you go to his website, first there’s a video likeness of the Senator thanking you for coming. Then once you’re directed to the site, there are no less than TWENTY-FIVE easy to click videos telling you where he stands on the issues. Another click and you have another TWENTY-FIVE on him on the campaign trail and of the various endorsements he’s gotten. And this is besides the links to Facebook, Twitter, and all the other networking sites the candidates.

The most amazing thing of it all? Senator Chambliss is sixty-five years old. Not bad for an “old man,” eh? It’s a shame the old man we had running for President didn’t take notes.

Do you know anything about Saxby Chambliss, other than his political affiliation?

In 2002, he compared triple amputee war hero Max Cleland to Osama bin Laden. He also used his position as a senator to intimidate and discredit witnesses against the Imperial Sugar Company, who were negligent in a factory fire that killed several Georgians. Saxby cares more about money from the sugar industry than he does about the lives of his own constituents.
