I often say that most country songs are about one of three topics: love, drinking, or Jesus. While he doesn’t write aboot the Jesus all that much, Toby Keith is pretty good with the love and/or drinking songs. I know that most of my liberal, hatin’ on anything south of the Mason-Dixon line, nearest and dearest from New York only know Toby from being “pro-war” or his feud with the Dixie Chicks, but when you get past that jive you have a great performer and song writer who keeps me entertained with just about everything he releases.
Plus he’s not afraid to turn the guitars up. I dig that too.
I chose the videos “High Maintenance Woman,” Keith’s protegees The Trailer Choir with “Rockin’ the Beer Gut,” and my favourite song “Broken Bridges.” Though, since there wasn’t an offical video I chose one of them anime fanvids.
