Obama’s first appointment is…Eric Holder?

It would appear Barack Obama is aboot to make his first cabinet appointment…and it’s Eric Holder for Attorney General. Already there’s apparently some controversy a-brewin’ over his time in the Clinton Administration and a controversial pardon.

Like I said, Obama is the president and he can choose whomever he feels like, and with a Democrat congress he can nominate a horse for Secretary of Agriculture if he wanted. But tell me if this makes a lick of sense…

There’s talk of Larry Summers for Treasury Secretary, a guy who just aboot everyone whose opinion matters on the economy (including Obama himself) thinks would be the perfect guy for the job. And don’t tell anyone, but apparently there are economic problems right now.

There’s talk of Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State, which would be the biggest appointment to the State Department since Thomas Jefferson.

And instead, for his first appointment he chooses a guy who is a) another former Clintonite (so much for change), b) slightly hints of insider cronyism (Holder was in charge of the V.P. vetting) and c) comes with drama.

Huh?
