Another Day, Another Bailout

Since there can’t possibly be enough talk aboot bailouts these days, this should brighten up your Tuesday:

WASHINGTON (AP) — The government is working on a new loan program to help companies that issue credit cards, make student loans and finance car purchases, people familiar with the plan said Tuesday.

Now, much like with energy, I favor an “all of the above” approach to blaming people responsible for our current economic crisis. That includes the President, Congress, all the industries with their hat in hand, the media…and us as consumers who for ten years had to have it now whether or not we can afford it or not.  And I’m just as guilty as anyone.  My credit card debt is not the fault of the Bush tax cuts, it’s the fault of too much internet shopping.  I’m the last person to shirk personal responsibility or blame everyone else if I can’t pay my bills.

But instead of helping out the credit card companies…why not just pay off everyones credit card bills, and make it so these people have to be more choosey who they give credit cards to in the first place?
