The Lifetime Channel took a poll recently aboot the recent election and two-thirds of the women polled think that Sarah Palin received the harshest media treatment.
Two-thirds of respondents to a survey released Wednesday said the news media coverage of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was more negative than that of any other candidate running for office, while eight out of 10 said too much coverage focused on the Republican vice-presidential candidate’s wardrobe. Half said there was too little reporting of her serious policy positions.
I’m torn; because personally I think our side played the “victim” card a bit too much…we should leave jive like that to the experts at crying vicitmhood – The Democrats. On top of which, it was for the most part all Republican men crying sexism. The one person not doing it was Sarah Palin.
On the other hand, I did notice sexism that, if I’m being honest, I only picked up on because Palin was my candidate. When the criticism of her convention speech was that she did a good job reading a speech someone wrote for her, I kinda got the feeling that wouldn’t have been a critique if Tim Pawlenty was chosen for V.P….when he would have been reading the exact same speech for the most part.
I’ve also yet to see a story aboot BAM’s $1,500 suits, or the $200K spent on Greek columns for his acceptance speech.
UPDATE: Ed Rendell…::rolls eyes::
UPDATE DEUX: What a maroon!
As a matter of fact, I watched an interview Sarah did that stated that she did believe that more attention was focused on her clothing, appearance, trivial things and not her experience.
