New York Giants or Pittsburgh Steelers?

As I’ve said, I’m new to being a football fan. It’s really only been for a few years, and I’m trying to decide on what my favourite team is going to be. How does a team get to be your favourite?

I’ve been a NY Yankees fan since I was five, but it’s been so long I forget how they became my favourite team (and sometime I’m not sure why they still are). There were also a couple of years in the early 80′s where I was an Islanders fan, but that was more because my friend was and both of our fathers liked the Rangers.

I think “favourite” is the wrong word, and I’m just looking for a team to root for. I’ve narrowed it down to two: the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Giants, in all honestly, have less to do with them winning the Super Bowl last year than it does a natural progression. The way it works, Yankees fans are usually Giants fans and Mets fans are usually Jets fans. Also, if I started cheering for the Jets, my buddy Lee would have someone kick my ass. Brandon Jacobs has been good to me in fantasy. I’ve always kinda dug Michael Strahan. I heart New York.

The Steelers are more my personality, though I can’t put my feeling on why. There’s just something really “old school” aboot the team and their attitude that I relate to. I like Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu, plus the Rooney’s are Republican and I gotta keep it real.

So I’ve decided that the Giants are the NFC team I root for, and the Steelers are my team in the AFC.

If they play each other…what’s the spread?

THE RIGHT HOOK

Thanks for stopping by, though I currently have this blog on hold while I focus more on building one for THE RIGHT HOOK, the sodom and gammorah of conservative podcasts and your anthem for the underground where the RINOs and the Radicals come together as one!
