As Blagogate roars on, some have commented on the media’s lack of intellectual curiosity in questioning P.E. BAM on it. I guess when the Obama Campaign issued the talking point aboot how he had been for some time now trying to distance himself from the Governor – who he has a cute nickname for and had been bragging along with Rahm Emmanuel that they got “Hot Rod” elected governor – that’s a good enough answer for the mainstream media.
My favourite was how he was brought up by the “Chicago Machine” but isn’t a part of the “Chicago Machine.” Let’s see a Republican get away with that one.
Anyway, this is leading to a new round of criticism on how badly the media was in the tank for Obama during the election, and if they delivered him the Presidency in the first place. To me, to imply that the media won the election for Obama would be to imply that John McCain ran a good campaign…and he did nothing of the sort.
McCain seemed more concerned with impressing the media that he ever was with reaching out to the American voters, misused Sarah Palin in ways to great to count, and didn’t have a coherent message on anything. SEC Chair Andrew Cuomo? Treasury Secretary Warren Buffet…who wants to raise the taxes McCain says he wants to lower? Really Sparky?
That being said, my gut still tells me that if the media had investigated Obama half as much as they investigated Joe the Plumber, Hillary Clinton would be President Elect right now.
UPDATE: A reminder of what’s at stake…
UPDATE DEUX: Better late than never.
What is that sign Obama is standing behind? Office of the President Elect? When did we create that office?
ahrcabum, dare you ask when it pertains to his holiness????
