According to the good folks at MMAWeekly, Wanderlei Silva will be meeting with UFC president (and my hero) Dana White this week to discuss what’s next for him. Possible ideas being bally-hooed around the Internet are a cut down to Middleweight, a rematch against Chuck Liddell, or a fight between the winner of next week’s Rich Franklin vs. Dan Henderson fight.
Wanderlei is in a curious predicament right now. He entered the UFC on a two fight losing streak (against Henderson and Cro Cop). Since then he lost a decision to Chuck Liddell, knocked Keith Jardine the fuck out…but then got knocked the fuck out by Rampage Jackson. So the “Axe Murderer,” who at one point was the most feared fighter in mixed martial arts, is currently 1-4 in his last five fights
So what does he do? Honestly, a drop down to 185 and a fight against Anderson Silva only really interests me if Wanderlei is able to find some of the fire from a few years ago. The winner of Franklin/Henderson goes to coach the winner of the next season of Ultimate Fighter, so Wandy gets the loser?
Wanderlei vs. Liddell 2 I guess makes the most sense…though with both of them coming off nasty knockouts and starting to look like their best years are behind them…I just don’t know.

I am pretty sure it is going to be Wand vs Chuck at UFC 96. Dana said that is one of two options:
