[VIDEO] BAM Stimulus: Oh My God

On the same day that the Senate approved the other half of the $700 Billion bailout (the original one) to be spent, and while the Democrat congress circulated a stimulus plan that a) was over $850 Billion, b) Rep. David Obey (D – WI) said still isn’t enough, c) being referred to as “a giant federal firehose spraying money in a hundred directions,” and D) according to Amanda Carpenterallegedly crafted to save us from the Wall Street crisis but is obviously being used to fund every hail Mary entitlement cause under the sun,” the Republicans met with economists and business leaders to talk amongst themselves and develop a few ideas of their own.

There were a few new ideas put forth, some of which would be pretty appealing to the American people,  and receive a decent amount of bipartisan support.

A few highlights, if you will:

-A “net new hire” tax credit, which would make it less risky and expensive for businesses to expand.
-A zero capital gains rate for those making less than $200,000 per year, to encourage investment among the middle class.
-Full expensing of business investments for tax purposes. This would encourage businesses to make such investments, as they must currently report depreciation losses slowly over several years.
-A decrease in the top corporate tax rate of 35 percent to 25 percent.

Mitt Romney also brought up that, if there’s going to be massive spending, a bulk of it should be for defense:

I would like to see a significant portion of new spending to be devoted to the maintenance, repair, replacement and modernization of our military equipment and armament. Since the 1990’s dismantling of our military, we have tended to live off the assets that had been purchased in the past. These have been extensively employed in two Gulf wars and in Afghanistan. Bringing forward needed replacement and repair will boost the economy, enhance our national security, and importantly aid our men and women in uniform.

Honestly, before we sign off on $850 Billion of more spending, I still want to know aboot the $700 Billion bailout. Really, it’s just two simple questions:

1. What, why, where, and how exactly is the second $350 Billion going to be used and used for?
2. What the hell happened to the first $350 Billion?

If you add the bailout to the stimulus, we’re talking aboot $1.5 TRILLION. Let me say that again:

$1,500,000,000,000.00!!!

$1.5 TRILLION where, instead of explaining how we’re going to pay for it and why I needs to be used how it’s being used, the Democrat party is just playing their usual politics of fear to scare us into letting them have their way with $1,500,000,000,000.00, by putting a gun to our head to say if we don’t let them do this no questions asked, it’s going to be the end of the world.

And yes, those are the same politics of fear they admired the Bush Administration for using to get us into war with Iraq.  Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
