Nancy Pelosi Rocks My Socks

I didn’t think much aboot Nancy Pelosi saying on Sunday that abortions free condoms “family planning” is economic stimulus. I figured most American’s aren’t as stupid as the Speaker thinks they are and would see through this as nothing more than a payoff to a Democrat special interest group, just so they can take our tax dollars and give it back to the Democrat party in the form of campaign contributions or PAC money.

I suppose some closed-minded and intolerant people from “fly over country” might be offended that in the middle of a financial crisis the Democrats want to buy contraceptives offer “family planning” to teenagers and others, but whatever. Those people are probably in the small minority.

But surprisingly there were quite a few people offended by this, including JBdotC managing editor Tabitha Hale. Here’s what Ms. Hale had to say…

The solution to your problem is not to prevent people from having babies – it’s to minimize their dependence on the programs that are bankrupting the country. If you plan on bearing the financial burden for every person in the country, then naturally the solution to economic problems is less people to provide for. However, in real life, doesn’t it make a lot more sense to focus on what you can control – which is how much you’re spending on those programs? You’re not going to control how many babies people have unless you want to turn into China.

Meh. To each their own, I guess.

UPDATE: Oh look, BAM is being all bi-partisan.

Now I might be willing to buy that she’s the worst SOH in history, certainly one of the dumbest at least.

Has anyone thought to connect the dots to how close Speaker Pelosi’s comments on ‘family planning’ & the cost savings they represent come to some rather abhorrent groups of the near past, might I say in living memory? In the 30′s, the Nazi party came to power & propagated a policy of removing those individuals/people groups it felt did not live up to a standard it held. Where would Speaker Pelosi draw the line for cost savings? Should we look to the nursing homes to the elderly who are consuming expensive services, that can no longer contribute to society? What of those in state mental hospitals. What of those in prisons who consume a lot of services & contribute nothing??

My other question is: where are the calls for Speaker Pelosi to step down? Trent Lott lost his position as leader of the senate for expressing his admiration of Strom Thurmond & his wish he had been elected president . . . Speaker Pelosi said abortion, i.e. ‘family planning’, helps reduce cost . . . is that all our children are? Cost to the system? And here the government is running pell mell as fast as it can to provide more, spend more, grow more, do more for the american people . . . am I one of the few who sees the insanity of it all? Hold Speaker Pelosi responsible for her irresponsible comments & call for her resignation as speaker, just as was done to Trent Lott.
