RiNO’s are NOT the Enemy

“What the GOP needs is not a unified message but political entrepreneurs.” - Bill Kristol

I hear a lot of people bitching and complaining offering thought full dissent aboot RiNO’s, which for those of you in the cheap seats it’s an acronym for Republican’s In Name Only. The definition for exactly who is “a RiNO” fluctuates. For some it’s simply a liberal who pretends to be a Republican for the sake of winning an election (think Mike Bloomberg). Others consider a “RiNO” anyone who disagrees with Rush Limbaugh on a single issue.

Some people might even consider me a RiNO, because while I’m anti-bailout and pro-brutalizing terrorists, I also don’t think screaming “they don’t belong here” is an effective way to fight illegal immigration and don’t think the fate of a Republic lies in the hands of whether or not two gay people can form a civil union. Cest la vie.

Song of the Day: Seventeen

Because who hasn’t had her whisper in your ear, “I’m only seventeen?”

Don’t answer that…

Morning Grind

Holy Shit! I agree with Russ Feingold aboot something!

Holy Shit! Frank Rich actually makes a good point?

Apparently Vice President Biden is a war monger too.

Personally, I think sending terrorists to San Francisco is a great idea.

Don’t forget the Minnesota senate seat.

Oxymoron: saying the words “Obama” and “fiscal responsibility” in the same sentence.

Fiscal Suicide: Mac is Back?

Everybody’s watching you now…
Everybody waits for you now…

All eyes are going to be on John McCain…pretty much anytime he says anything. Besides scanning his words for any hidden messages aboot Sarah Palin, everyone wants to know where he’s going to stand on issues, will he stand with the D’s or the R’s, what he will fight for, etc. Essentially, what Maverick will we get?

According to the man on “Fox News Sunday,” he’s at least standing with us against the 2009 Fiscal Suicide Act. So sayeth Gov. Palin’s former running mate…

“There should be an end point to all of this spending.say two years…The plan was written by the Democratic majority in the House primarily. So yeah, I think there has to be major rewrites, if we want to stimulate the economy,” McCain said. “I am opposed to most of provisions in the bill. As it stands now. I would not support it.”

“We need serious negotiations. We’re losing sight of what the stimulus is all about and that is job creation.”

2010 Watch: Gillibrand vs King

Well, that was fast. Newly minted NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (who at first glance appears to be a pro-abortion version of Sarah Palin) hasn’t even made her way to Washington D.C. yet, and already people are starting shall we say…dissent.

Yes, it’s true that the New York Times and MSNBC has decided that being “folksy” is suddenly a good thing, but there are reports that some of her Dem colleagues aren’t fond of her, even comparing her (albeit anonymously) to Tracy Glick from perhaps one of the most over rated moves of all time, “Election.”

Then of course there’s my man Pete King, NY representative and Gillibrand’s most probable opponent in 2010. Though instead of making the mistake the Democrat party made in attacking Sarah Palin personally, he’s directing his criticism more to David Patterson and the process of making the selection, which most will agree, got pretty fucked up.

So sayeth the future Senator from the great state of New York:

Rush Limbaugh is the Most Patriotic Man in America

“If we don’t get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election. But we can’t let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That’s how things don’t get done in this town.”

They say that dissent is the truest form of patriotism, and by “they” I mean every liberal for the past eight years who would put that bumper sticker next to their “Bush is a War Criminal” one. So taking these progressives at their word, for the next four years it would appear that Rush Limbaugh is the most patriotic man in America.

And apparently, since George Bush isn’t around to rally the troops against, President Obama has apparently decided to make Rush Limbaugh the new boogie man. Obama met recently with the Republican leadership to discuss the 2009 Fiscal Suicide Plan, and this report of the meeting found its way to reporters:
