The Re-Imaging of Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin – yes, THE Sarah Palin – traveled from Alaska to Washington this weekend for meeting and an invite to something called the Alfalfa Dinner. Here’s the weird thing though – she traveled all the way to Washington and didn’t talk to anyone. No interviews, no press conferences, and outside of a few closed door meetings, didn’t say much of anything.

She also didn’t stop by the House GOP retreat that she was invited to, unlike Mitt Romney…and Tim Pawlenty…and Newt Gingrich…and Michael Steele. Her original excuse was that pressing state business made it impossible for her to leave Alaska this weekend.” But since she was able to make it to D.C. after all, I’m sure she had a pretty darn good excuse not to meet with House members…

Asked why Palin told the Republicans she could not leave Alaska this weekend, Palin spokesman Bill McAllister offered this non-responsive answer, “My understanding is that the governor has not scheduled any partisan events on her current trip to D.C..”

This caused Minority Leader John Boehner to issue a statement of his own…

“Whatever.”

I know the “re-imagining” of Sarah Palin seems to be focused on making her…”less partisan.” You see, because she did something no Vice Presidential candidate has ever done before and played attack dog, she got labeled by the MSM as the most polarizing candidate EVAH! So to remedy that, for the immediate future she’ll be talking aboot energy independence and attending things like the Alfalfa Dinner to see how mad bi-partisan she is.

But of she thinks dissing the House GOP and being all bi-partisan like a mutha is going to impress anyone and give her more favourable media coverage, she obviously wasn’t paying the close attention last year because that’s exactly what John McCain though too.
