My, What a Lovely Tax Day Tea Party
“In America questioning our leaders is both our right and our civic responsibility.” – Rick Santelli
Or, at least it used to be when you were questioning George Bush. Questioning Barack Obama Dear Leader is divisive and ideological. I digress.
Mr. Santelli might have something here, because ever since his impromptu rant on the floor of the stock exchange, people have been having “tea parties” all over the country to protest the Democrat Parties fiscal suicide/crap sandwich/economic plan. It’s a pretty simple equation really: random idea + passionate activists = a movement.
Even Minority Leader John Boehner has acknowledged what’s happening on the ground…
In fact, within the last several days, numerous “taxpayer tea parties” have been held across the country to protest the tax-and-borrow-and-spend legislation Washington Democrats have in store. House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) applauded the efforts of those who are speaking out against the Democrats’ self-described “tax-and-spend” agenda and underscored the House GOP’s commitment to defending their interests in the housing, budget, and other debates to come on Capitol Hill:
“In gatherings large and small and at kitchen tables across the nation, Americans who have played by the rules are growing increasingly angry about government rewarding irresponsible behavior and spending their money on bigger and bigger programs that our nation simply cannot afford. House Republicans want to work in a bipartisan way on solutions to our nation’s many challenges, but we will continue to stand up on behalf of these Americans – from middle-class families to small businesses to seniors who have said ‘enough is enough’ as Democrats in Washington make plans for their next Big Government spending spree.”
So as the stock market drops closer to 6,000, as the Obama Administration blames it all on Rush Limbaugh, and as Senior Democratic Aides Admit the White House Proposed “…a tax-and-spend budget the likes of which we haven’t seen in years,” which would raise taxes on families, small businesses, seniors, 401(k) owners, and anyone who flips on a light switch during this ever-deepening recession…don’t give up and don’t forget there are people just like you are starting to organize all divisive and ideological like.
More importantly, get ready for the Tax Day Tea Party on April 15th.
