2+2=Newt Gingrich?

Newt.

Newt Gingrich would easily be my pick for President…if not for the heavily guarded warehouse full of opposition research the D’s have secured in an undisclosed warehouse somewhere. Newt’s a mixed bag too. One day he’s throwing out chunks of red meat that say “health care rationing” on them. The next he’s hanging out with Al Sharpton (yes, that Al Sharpton) on “The Today Show” talking aboot education reform. That’s our Newt.

It’s a shame too, because I think he’s come across a great campaign message. I was on vacation last week, and when I heard C-Span was going to be broadcasting a class he was teaching on the budget…I geeked out, made myself a cup of coffee, and watched.

What did I learn? Apparently 2+2=4. Go figure…

It’s because the American people are being asked to believe the unbelievable. We’re being told that a $1 trillion health care bill will not add to the deficit, that a $1 trillion national energy tax affecting every business in America will not kill jobs, and that a $787 billion unread spending bill is actually saving our economy.

It is this mind-set and denial of reality that gave us the subprime lending disaster, an IOU-issuing Sacramento, and a dysfunctional Detroit. Simply put, people are fed up. To get America back on the right track, we must re-establish a simple premise: 2+2=4…

For 20 years, politicians told us there was no problem with putting people who couldn’t afford to buy homes, into homes they couldn’t afford. This was a failure of 2+2=4, and every day we’re seeing the consequences.

When Sacramento, a city run by bureaucrats and politicians who avoid hard spending decisions, is forced to issue IOUs with a $26 billion budget shortfall, this is a failure to admit that 2+2=4.

When Detroit, which graduates 27 percent of its freshmen on time, has one of the country’s most expensive education systems, this is a failure to admit that 2+2=4, and reform.

The whole editorial is highly recommended, if for no other reason it’s a different way to look at a very common problem. I still can’t seem him actually getting into the race, but stranger things have happened, and since he’s on everyone else’s “watch list” he’s on my 2012 Watch as well.

THE RIGHT HOOK

Thanks for stopping by, though I currently have this blog on hold while I focus more on building one for THE RIGHT HOOK, the sodom and gammorah of conservative podcasts and your anthem for the underground where the RINOs and the Radicals come together as one!
