Democrats are really good with sob stories. That’s not to say that there aren’t horror stories with people’s health care, which is why regardless of what President Obama wants you to believe, conservatives don’t think the status quo is acceptable either. But for every story aboot how the health care industry has failed someone, there’s another where it hasn’t.
There’s a story aboot a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her personal physician got her an appointment with a specialist right away, and they settle on an experimental treatment designed to cure her of cancer. Ten years later, she’s still cancer free. None of that may have been possible if the Democrats got to live out their soggy dreams of a single-payer system where the government is in full control.
Newt Gingrich recently highlighted another example where the health care industry worked…
Remember, it is wrong to call the President a liar. You can’t say that “he lies” or that he’s “intellectually dishonest.” That’s the worst thing you can possibly say, so much worse than the Democrat leadership calling private citizens “un-American” and “evil.” Dissent against Dear Leader shall not be tolerated, even if some of his promises concerning health care reform might not be entirely “true.”
It bothers me that we don’t have a declare opponent for Kristen Gillibrand yet, especially after last week when she was one of seven Senators who voted AGAINST defunding ACORN (after that whole child prostitution expose thingy). The former “blue dog” is now openly bragging aboot being a new voice for progressives (::cough::poseur::cough::), and is vulnerable no matter how much the President gets involved.
I usually focus more on the national issue for the broad appeal, but every so often something happens in my backyard that I feel the need to opine on.
I enjoyed this past summer watching the Democrats implode, and have been equally entertained this past week or so that they formed a circular firing squad around BaucusCare (aka, the bill formerly known as ObamaCare). When you own the White House, Congress, the Senate, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and NBC News, yet still can’t force your agenda on people…blame Glen Beck as much as you want, you just suck at life.
Foreign policy is a difficult issue to follow from the cheap seats. Domestic policy is easier. It still takes work, but you can read up on it, watch a little of the news, apply everything to your own life, and form an opinion. Foreign policy is more difficult, because there’s not only a lot out there you don’t know, I’m sure there’s a lot out there you don’t want to know.
