Chris Christie takes Manhattan with his Common Sense Porn

I think Glen Beck is an assclown, but I am grateful that the phrase “common sense porn” has been entered into my vernacular. It’s a phrase that most of us use to describe any speech, video, or media appearance by NJ Governor Chris Christie. Gov. Christie is the latest conservative hero we’re pinning all of our hopes and dreams on…which of course means there’s only a matter of time before he shatters our hearts like all the others before him.

Until then, we’ll just have to keep sneaking into the bathroom with speeches of his in a brown paper bag, the most latest of which was to the Manhattan Institute. He travelled to New York City this week to talk aboot the fiscal mess New Jersey is in and how he plans to fix it with something he calls Cap 2.5. Besides being an outstanding website, it’s also his reform agenda, centered around capping property tax increases at 2.5%.

There tons of great stuff in here, so for the sake of this blog post we’ll draw a topic out of a hat. Oooh, public employee unions…

Sarah Palin and Why Democrats Hate Women

“You don’t want to mess with moms who are rising up. If you thought pit bulls were tough, you don’t want to mess with mama grizzlies.” - Sarah Palin

The Republican Party hates women…is what the Democrats and their followers in the media keep telling us. Because we tend to be on different sides on the issue of abortion and Democrats think women are all single issue voters who share the same brain and can’t survive on their own without the Democrats help…Republicans are the ones who “hate” women. This may or may not be why they are so intent on destroying Sarah Palin.

Yes, the same Sarah Palin who was ill served by the mind numbing incompetence of the McCain Campaign in 2008 and the same Sarah Palin who is such a useless idiot and a moron and a big dummy…that the media can’t stop giving her tons of media attention for everything she does. That Sarah Palin. You betcha.

The same Sarah Palin who believes the Republican Party hates women so much…that she’s amassing an army of future Republican leaders, all of which are of the female persuasion. Don’t believe me? Just ask the extreme right-wing Palin apologists from…The Daily Beast? Hmmm…

Random Thoughts: Two Types

You know, I learned something today. There seems to be two types of people in this world…

Those who believe in conservative values, lower taxes, limited government, empowering entrepaneurs, American exceptionalism, and a strong national defense.

And those who believe in petty vendettas.

Can Switching to Paul Ryan Really Save You $1.3 Trillion Dollars?

Zoinks! The Republicans are actually starting to sound all Republicany.

The Democrat controlled Congress currently has no plans to pass a budget for the new fiscal year, something that the last one hundred and ten sessions of Congress have managed to do regardless of how bitterly divided it was. Yet, Nancy Pelosi with her 70+ majority isn’t even going to try…I guess mainly because they know they can’t justify themselves to the voters in the fall.

Enter the Party of No, led my JBdotC fav Rep. Paul Ryan, with…wait, this can’t be right. An idea how to save $1.3 Trillion dollars over the next decade? But…Paul Ryan is a Republican and the Republican’s are the Party of No. They just say no to everything without presenting an alternative.

To that I say, to paraphrase the great Western philosopher Paul Levesque, I have two words for you, SUCK IT

David Malpass: What Would Ronald Reagan Do?

“As Reagan understood, true leadership requires stating goals and taking decisive action, in this case reducing government spending substantially enough to convince the private sector to invest again..” - David Malpass

My main reason for supporting David Malpass is because I feel he actually understand the issues at hand, as opposed to his opponents who just know how to say “socialism” and “Ronald Reagan.” I grew up in the 80′s so the former President was my introduction to politics and patriotism, so like all of you I’m a big fan, but I also feel republicans invoke the name Reagan too much…and usually when they have nothing else to say.

So of course, I get a Google News alert that Malpass asks in a recent Wall Street Journal editorial “What Would Reagan Do?”

All snark aside, he’s a former Deputy Treasury Secretary in the Reagan administration, so he has a little extra clout to ask that question. Plus, the editorial was less a yearning to get back to the 80′s as much as it was economically wonky. A few blurbs…
