“For over 20 years, I’ve been writing about and interviewing New York politicians. And it always frustrates, but never surprises, when politicians turn out to be clueless on economics.” - Raymond J. Keating
Ok, so they don’t “heart” him in an official capacity. There was however a great interview with him that touches subtly on why I’m a David Malpass supporter. He’ll make a stellar Senator, but I want the debate more than anything else.
I want the debate in my own party that I feel we desperately need to see who knows the issues and who just knows the catchphrases , and I want the debate against the Democrats in this state who have gotten away with the class warfare rhetoric their union bosses write for them for way too long.
Malpass, along with cats like John Faso and Dan Senor, I feel can win both debates, and do so easily…
Many of us find ourselves asking “What Would Rick Lazio Do,” especially when you look at the mess Albany has become under Democrat control. This week is particularly entertaining because after being months late on a budget and raising taxes on cigarettes (making things awesome for already struggling convenience stores), the Democrats seem to be fighting amongst themselves.
I’m cautiously optimistic about Chris Christie because while he says the right things and has us flocking to YouTube for his latest dose of “common sense porn” (it kills me to have to quote Glenn Beck), I still want to seem him get actual results before I put the Christie ’12 bumper sticker on the back of my car. I always draw comparisons to Sarah Palin who, after only being Governor for a year and saying the right things, we decided was ready to run for Vice President. Oops.
“Tough financial reforms are necessary and appropriate, but this bill fails to fix much of what’s wrong, and it badly hurts New York small businesses and job seekers in the process.”
