The Situation on Chris Christie

Yeah, instead of a hack Springsteen or Bon Jovi reference, I went with the “Jersey Shore.” Granted I’m sure ‘The Situation’ probably couldn’t even spell governor let alone know who Chris Christie is, but I digress. Less talk aboot jobs.

In between having a movie made about him, and being passed over for the President’s “Race to the Top” funds over a clerical error (out of a 1,000+ report), the Governor was recently profiled in Business Week magazine. There was much new that we don’t already know: some biographical stuff, other Republican nominees look to him, he’s pissing people off, etc.

However, there was one paragraph that I feel needs to be highlighted…

Dear Mitch Daniels, Quit Playing Games With My Heart

While my head tells me Mitt Romney for our candidate in 2012, my heart is with Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels…which of course means he’s going to toy with my emotions. Most recently in a local paper Courier-Journal he said he’s NOT running for President. Then he said he’s not looking at ‘12 bid, but “if it’s an interesting subject in a few months, ask me then.”

New York Must Change Its Primary Date

I’ve been rooting for Marco Rubio ever since he announced he was running for Florida senate, and even though he no longer had an opponent in the primary, I still had August 24th marked on my calendar. As I was watching the primary results, just as I’ve been watching for the past few months, it made me wish New York had a normal date.

You see, while other candidates – like Pat Toomey and Joe Sestak in neighboring Pennsylvania – have been running for Senate since the beginning or middle of the summer, here in New York we have to wait until September 14th before we know who our candidates are. Our candidates here in New York have to spend the summer (and first two weeks of September) fighting and spending money on each other, before they even get to their opponents. That includes Governor and BOTH Senators on our side, and the Attorney General on the other.

Show of hands: who besides me thinks that’s ridiculous?
