To the reader who wasn’t happy I compared Sarah Palin to Tim Tebow and that I had to bash her just to “establish my credentials,” this one’s for you Slapnuts. And no, it’s not actually aboot her “rack.” It’s aboot how she won Super-ish Tuesday.
Republicans in various states all nominated female candidates this past week to run for Governor and the Senate, which isn’t surprising for those of us who pay attention because after Sarah Palin was named as John McCain’s running mate, more and more women have been getting more vocal and more involved in both the Republican Party and the conservative movement. Mrs. Palin, to her credit, is more than happy to shine the spotlight on these candidates.
She also seems to have a golden touch because, just looking at last Tuesday, candidates she endorsed in both Nevada and South Carolina went from last place to winning the nomination, and in the case of Nikki Haley in South Carolina, with almost 50% of the vote.
While her endorsing conservative candidates isn’t all that surprising, it was her endorsement of Carly Fiorina that stood out, if not for it’s pragmatism for her showing that she can in fact think for her own and doesn’t just blindly follow the tea party.
