UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem Predictions

I haven’t done one of these in a while because the past few PPV’S have either conflicted with other events, or I just didn’t feel like ordering the PPV (and I’m stick kicking myself for passing on Henderson vs. Rua). That said, ain’t no way in hell I’m passing on Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem. As the ancient Mayans said…LET’S GET OT ON!

MAIN EVENT
A buddy of mine has been waiting for Brock Lesnar to fight someone “his own size” for a while, and Alistair Overeem besides being two inches taller is also undefeated since 2007. He’s also already accustomed to an American style/audience, which is the reason so many other “big names” who came to the UFC had disappointing debuts. Every analytical statistic says Alistair wins, but sentimentally…I gotta go with Lesnar for the upset.

Brock Lesnar on the WWE Rumours: WTF? LOL!

I haven’t enjoyed a good rumour like this since way back at the turn of the century when I used to write for wrestling websites under the awesomely awesome name “Freakboy.”

It started way back at UFC 121. Brock Lesnar has just lost to Cain Velasquez. WWE superstar The Undertaker, who was watching the fight (he goes to UFC fights regularly), was being interview when Lesnar walked past them. They had words, and the wrestling websites went into overdrive because obviously this meant it was the start of an angle to set up Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

The reporter had no idea what was going on and UFC President Dana White said “no” it as many different ways he knew how, but as anyone who had dealt with wrestling sites before…they always know more than you do. Brock Lesnar finally spoke out recently…

Brock Lesnar Exposed: He’s Overrated and Sucks

I swear, Brock Lesnar can beat God and Mike Ditka at the same time, and the net nerds would still be complaining aboot how much he sucks. Dominating Randy Couture was a fluke. Dominating Frank Mir was a fluke. And while hardly dominating, beating Shane Carwin was a fluke too.

In the last case, he was “exposed” in the first round and the referee should have stopped the fight.

Three things:

1. It’s a heavyweight TITLE fight. You let the fighters go.

2. Part of training is learning not to panic when you’re getting pummeled.

3. Brock is still the undisputed champion.

Suck it.

UFC 116 Results: What’s Next for Brock Lesnar

He’s lucky to be alive, and after a tap out in the second round, Brock Lesnar is the UNDISPUTED heavyweight champion of the world. What’s funny here is that my buddy Mark called a Brock submission in the 3rd around and I called him an ignorant slut because “Brock doesn’t have submissions.”

His next fight will be the undefeated Cain Velasquez, who when last we saw him absolutely decimated Minatoro Nougeria.

With Fedor’s recent defeat, the title for the number one heavyweight champion in the world is up for grabs. If Brock Lesnar can end yet another undefeated streak in his next fight, even the most adamant haters would have to call Lesnar the best in the industry.

Plus, we got to see him walking into the building with Paul Heyman, which was awesome.

If there is a God, Paul Heyman will walk Brock Lesnar to the Octagon this weekend…

UFC 116 Predictions

We’re a week away from UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin, and I think I’m ready to make my predictions. Feel free to leave a comment and tell me how much I suck and that I know nothing aboot the mixed martial arts. I love it when people do that!

PRELIMINARY
I like Brendan Schaub over Chris Tuchscherer and Seth Petruzelli over Ricardo Romero.

UNDERCARD
I’ll take George Sotiropoulos over Kurt Pellegrino. Ever since Sotiropoulos has left training in Long Island for Las Vegas, he’s looked great.

Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski is a rematch from their first fight that Soszynski won after an accidental headbutt that bust Bonner open. I’m still going to take Soszynski. Save for the Brandon Vera fight, he’s looked great since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter.
