Mitt Romney Ad Defends Candidate’s Record at Bain

Smart move…

Quote of the Moment

‎”I am long past looking for my President or my Presidential nominee to be my Savior or to be my Pastor. I am looking for someone that’s prepared to do the heavy lifting to get us where we all want to be; and, I think, where we need to be.” - J.C. Watts

I purposely left off who he is talking aboot because I think what he said is more important, especially as the cult-like fanaticism some people have towards their preferred candidate gets increasingly out of hand.

And that’s not even including the Palinistas and Paultards.

About This Whole Nikki Haley Endorsing Mitt Romney Thing

I’m a Newt Gingrich supporter and of course think everyone should endorse him because my judgement is right and anyone who supports another candidate is wrong, hates America, isn’t a true conservative, and so on. That being said…

Nikki Haley endorsed Mitt Romney in 2007. Mitt Romney endorsed Nikki Haley in 2009 when she was running in the SC-GOV primary and was fourth in the polls. They obviously have a personal relationship, and there’s more than a good chance that Nikki Haley honestly believes  Romney is the best person for the job. Maybe if there was a viable conservative alternative who was the perfect candidate it may have been different, but that candidate isn’t running and it sure as hell isn’t Rick Perry.

Anyone seriously hurt by the Haley endorsement, thinking she did it for a job, or thinks that she’s “done” with conservatives needs to change their diapers, back away from talk radio and pick up a book or at least go for a walk. There are more important issues facing the country than people’s Arbitron ratings, and the Republic is not going to fall because [Governor X] endorsed [Candidate who less less conservative than I approve of Y].

I was a John McCain supporter in 2008, so I am the LAST PERSON to criticize anyone for learning and/or changing your mind over four years. But the talk radio pile on of RINO Mitt Romney when they all sung his praises as the 2nd coming of Reagan riding to the rescue on his three legged stool four years ago is just hackery.

Proponents of limited government are not proponents of limited drinking (and other CPAC ’11 thoughts)

I forget where I stole the title from (probably the Twitters), so if it’s you…hi!

Here we are, back on Long Island after spending the last few days at the 2011 Conservative Political Action Conference, also known as the CPAC’s. My liver hurts and I’m looking forward to hibernating for a day or two, but before I do I wanted to expand on my random thoughts from the other day. I might even use spell check this time.

For starters, I can’t begin to say how appreciative I am for the relationship that’s been built between FTR Radio and Smart Girl Politics, and all the friends I’ve made. It started for me at last year’s CPAC’s when I had a drink (actually many of them) with programming director Tom LaDuke and he said, “I hear you got this little radio show.” So I would be remiss if I didn’t start by giving a shout out to Fingers, Paulie, Beregond, Jenny, Ashley, Jimmie, Josh, Mark, Molly, Brent, Tabitha, Stacy, Teri, Michelle and whoever else I’m sure I’m missing.

I also feel that I’ve finally arrived as a conservative internet personality…I was in the Kruiser Kabana.

Now, on to politics…
