Because of a combination of recovering from the holiday’s and a natural inclination to look back of the year past, I’ve decided to present my Country Muzik Monday Best of 2008. It actually worked out well, because I’ve only been doing this for six weeks. Sorry Toby Keith.

Country Muzik Monday: John Rich

I asked a buddy of mine from Nashville how it was treating him, and he told me “…like a big ol’, drunk, redneck sugar mama…except a city.” I think that’s the best description of anything ever.

Anywho, I’ve been into country music since I was a freshman in college, but my recent interest all stems from being introduced to the duo Big & Rich – the “Rich” half being singer/songwriter John Rich.

Pick a country artist at random and there’s a good chance he’s written a song for them, and with Big Kenny (the “Big” half) taking some time off to heal a back industry, J.R. has solo album coming out in the beginning of 2009. Thanks to YouTube, I’ve dug up a few solo performances I really enjoyed.
