“Some will argue this set of issues isn’t entirely new. But efficacy matters more than novelty.”
While President Obama’s 36% approval rating amongst independent voters is promising, I’m in the camp of Republicans concerned that people aren’t voting for us as much as they are against them. This is where, as discussed before, we need fresh ideas and a fresh approach to politics.
But what aboot our standard ideas with a fresh approach to delivering the message?
Most people reading this blog already think we have the better ideas. The rub is how we let Democrats get away with their class warfare junk, “tax cuts for the rich,” and manipulating voters into thinking anyone who has more money than you is evil and corrupt. We need to do a better job explaining to people with “narratives” and explain how the policies affect the voter’s everyday lives.
Enter Karl Rove…
I haven’t discussed health care much lately because after pointing out all the ways the President either lied or misrepresented the truth (
There’s been talk that our Dear Leader might be over exposed. Back in the day, the President would rarely give a big speech or a big interview. Then when he did, you knew it was important. This President seems to call a prime time address everytime his poll numbers run into trouble, which is why I don’t totally hold it against Fox for airing “So You Think You Can Dance?”
You really have to hand it to Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), the chair of the Senate Finance Committee. He and the “Gang of Six” have been working diligently to come up with a bi-partisan health care plan, and he succeeded. Yesterday as he stood up – alone – in front of the press, he proceeded to present a health care reform bill that both sides of the aisle seem to think su-diddly-ucks.
Many consider Dear Leader’s recent speech to be nothing more than a hyper-partisan rallying cry. You know the deal, we Republicans are standing in the way of the poor Democrats being able to do what they want even though they own the White House, the Senate, Congress, the New York Times, NBC News, etc. And when it comes to hyper-partisanship, there’s but one guy I like to check in with. He’s the megalo with the health glow…Karl Rove.
