Obama Throws Blind Man Under the Bus

Apparently Dear Leader is seeing it fit to interfere himself in New York politics again. First, he made personal phone calls to people to make sure none of them primaried current NY Senator Kristen Gillibrand, which makes you realize just how weak of a candidate they think she is behind the scenes. Now he’s setting his sites on our Governor David Patterson, trying to bully him out of the race straight up Chicago stylee encourage him not to run for re-election.

Why he’s choosing this Governor to throw under the bus, as opposed to other equally incompetent Democrat Governors, we don’t know. Is it because of the color of Gov. Patterson’s skin? Does President Obama have a problem with blind people? I could bring the snark here, but as the media teaches us, criticism of the President will not be tolerated.

Besides, RNC chairman Michael Steele brings the snark much better than I can…

Michael Steele to Dems: “Suck It”

You knew it was coming. As soon as President Obama ran into trouble, his supporters (with NBC News being the worst offenders) were going to accuse his critics of being racist. This was evident during the election last year when people were willing to call Bill Clinton a racist and comparing Hillary Clinton to David Duke, just to protect their candidate. If open minded and tolerant liberal progressives were willing to play the race card against the Clintons, the rest of us were screwed.

So sure enough, opposing a massive government expansion into the health care industry is racist, yelling “you lie” is racist, acknowledging the President’s falling poll numbers is racist…really, any criticism of Barack Obama is inherently racist. And since I’ve yet to hear any of the Dems denounce Keith Olbermann and the Huffington Post, I can only assume all Democrats agree.

One person speaking out on it is RNC Chair Michael Steele, who is uniquely qualified to speak on racism. You know, because he has a mustache…

Michael Steele to Carter: “Check Yourself, Fool”

Democrats just can’t help themselves from playing the race card when they get in trouble. If you have a disagreement with them aboot everything ever, since they’re closed mind and intolerant of anyone who thinks different than they do, it’s one of their three standards – along with “it’s all Fox News fault” and “you’re too stupid to know any better.”

It’s also a sign they’re losing the argument. Maybe it’s just me, but have you heard any of them actually defending the specifics of ObamaCare as opposed to just attacking anyone who disagrees with them (talk show hosts, lobbyist x, etc.)?

I think the question is how weak of a leader do Obama supports think that he is that they need to smear anyone who disagrees with him on anything as being inherently racist? RNC Chairman Michael Steele took issue with it, specifically recent comments by Jimmy Carter. And Steele is uniquely qualified to talk aboot race, you know, what with him having a mustache and all…

Newt Gingrich is Blacker than Michael Steele

We elected Michael Steele to be the chairman of the Republican National Committee (who to be clear, I still fully support). Everyone agrees our party needs to broaden its base, while still being true to our conservative principles. We’ve let the Democrat Party define us in the eyes of voters of color (while still providing our share of self-inflicted damage). Michael Steele is the first step in correcting that.

Steele can go out and there to talk to these voters aboot school choice, aboot social issues, aboot tax cuts, and aboot what some call the “liberal plantation,” and have more authority to do so simply because he is one of them.

So while Steele is trying to be down with Chuck D and talk aboot an “off the hook” Republican makeover, why is Newt Gingrich the one doing a serious interview with Essence Magazine? So sayeth the former Speaker

Why Michael Steele Disappoints Me

I don’t really care aboot the dust up with Rush Limbaugh. While he looked ridiculous apologizing, better that than a week of the media ignoring the 3,000 points the DOW is dropped since the election in lieu of pushing a war between the two. Meh.

And while it bothered me he let DL Hughley get away with saying the GOP Convention looked like Nazi Germany without calling him on it…actually, I can’t really think of a good excuse for that, but it’s still not the main thing that bothered me.

What bothered me was that, while everyone agrees the GOP needs to broaden their base, he feels he needs to do it by sucking up to the people we’re looking to attract. I like Public Enemy as much as the next guy (“soul on a role but you treat it like soap on a rope because the beats and the rhymes are so dope”), but instead of trying to act like you’re “down” with Chuck D, why not tackle an issue? I’ll even give you one:

School vouchers.

The Republican Comeback Begins…in New York?

Michael Steele, on the day he was elected head of the Republican National Committee (RNC), immediately started talking aboot rebuilding and the very first region mentioned was the Northeast. I believe his exact quote was, “To my friends in the Northeast, get ready baby.”Well, as a Republican from the Northeast, to my friend in Washington D.C., “Do I need to wear pants?”

But seriously folks, while the Republican Party has seen better days in the region and most Young Republicans gather in a basement somewhere like an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting, it would appear the Northeast might be fertile ground for at least the beginnings of a comeback. Stu Rothenberg, author of the “Rothenberg Political Report” and a cat you seems to have an idea what he’s talking aboot, see’s a few ways we can pick up some seats, and areas we can pick them up in.

The whole article is well worth a read, but I’ll just reference the part aboot New York since, well, that’s where I’m from…
