Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann can be Tim Tebow, I’ll be Aaron Rodgers

This isn’t an anti-Tebow column. While I defend people like Bill Maher’s right to be a meanspirited, unfunny douchebag, I’ve said all I have to say aboot the Tebow haters. That said, when Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann claim they want to be the “Tim Tebow” of Iowa…have they looked at the numbers?

Nevermind the fact that after Rick Perry made his comment at the debate instead of him becoming the Tebow of Iowa, Tebow became the Rick Perry of football, they’re both comparing themselves to a Quarterback that has been mostly all media hype with average stats.   That is the worst possible comparison for a politician to make.  It’s the political equivalent of   the news media calling you a front runner even though most polls say you aren’t actually as competitive as everyone keeps saying you are.

Mr. T’s Prediction for the 2012 Iowa Caucus

Personally, while  I would  love (and am still routing for) a Newt Gingrich upset, I think Mitt Romney wins in Iowa, is inevitably endorsed by Michelle Bachmann, and after taking New Hampshire everyone will fall in line.

I like Mr. T’s taking on the entire Republican Primary better though…

Fight Like a RINO (Why I’m Dropping Out of the Presidential Race)

Yeah, so I’m done with the Presidential race. I’ll vote for our nominee, but as far as investing any of myself in the primaries, I’m out.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like my vote even matters in the first place. I live in New York. By the time we have our primary in April we’ll already know who our nominee is, and the state’s going Obama in the general no matter how much of an unmitigated disaster he is, simply because of the D after his last name.

I’ve been thinking of this for a while, and there are three key reasons why I’m tapping out:

On Paul Ryan, Michelle Bachmann, and the State of the Union

To quote that great western philosopher John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, I love it when a plan comes together. My partner-in-crime Dacia Nichol and I just did a song aboot Rep. Paul Ryan called “Roadmap to my Heart.” Actually, if I’m being honest, she was the main creative force behind it. Her heart is the one he has a roadmap to. I really just came in for brain storming and to try and rhyme “fiscal reformation.” Either way, the song dropped Thursday night.

Friday afternoon, it was announced that he was giving the response to the State of the Union on January 25th.

Besides being great to the two of us, this was a great movie by the House GOP. There’s been some concern from those of us on the Right how serious they were aboot actually cutting spending and reforming entitlements, and how much was just campaign rhetoric. Having one of our intellectual leaders and one of our best when it comes to arguing conservative policy (video here and here) give the response, the week after unanimously voting to repeal ObamaCare, at the very least show’s the moxy. Conservatives should rejoice.

Enter Michelle Bachmann and the Tea Party Express, who apparently think it’s necessary to have their own response to the State of the Union.
