Happy Labor Day to the 9.7% Unemployed

Since it is Labor Day, it seems a good time to talk aboot the 9.7% unemployment rate in this country. Wait a second. 9.7%? I thought if we passed the Obama Stimulus the unemployment rate wasn’t going to go any higher than 8.0%. At least that’s what Joe Biden said, a NO ONE messes with Joe!

(End snark…for now)

Yes, those of us who thought the stimulus was a giant crap sandwich were attacked by state run media outlets like the NY Times and NBC News as in wanting the country to fail. It didn’t matter that after P. Bush borrowing and spending recklessly, we didn’t think it made sense for P. Obama to borrow more and spend more, more recklessly. It also didn’t matter than when we saw Obama economic advisers like Larry Summers and Peter Orszag on the talk shows, they didn’t look like they believed the words that were coming out of their mouths.

Take Your “Party of No” and Shove it Up Your [Bad Word]

The message of the week, as I’ve mentioned a few times on this blog, is pointing out that for all kvetching the D’s do aboot the R’s, it doesn’t change the fact that they own the White House, the Senate, Congress, NBC News, the New York Times and everything else in Washington outside of Fox News. Yet, this doesn’t stop folks from going back to the old reliable “party of no” and claiming the R’s have no ideas of our own even though I know we do, they know we do, yet claim we don’t anyway because they know that if they lie, NBC News will swear by it.

I also have issue with the “party of no” in the first place. For starters, concerning the Democrat party for the past few years (especially ’06-’08 when they were in control), I know you are but what am I? But also, there’s nothing wrong with saying no. One side produces legislation that you feel is bad for America and won’t listen to any of your ideas, what else is there to say besides no?

And much like when the D’s were the “party of no,” it seems to be working for us so far. So sayeth Fred Barnes…

Newt: “Saved or Created My Ass!”

It’s always good to start off your morning with a nice chunk of red meat. This article isn’t raw to where the cow is still twitching (yes, I stole that from AllahP), but it still covers all the bases. You have the crap sandwich known as Obama stimulus, you have the state run media formerly known as the mainstream media, and it was written by Newt Gingrich. What more can you ask for on a Sunday morning?

I’ll leave the media bias for now, because if you’re reading this blog you obviously already know all aboot it. We should turn “What If George W. Bush Said it” into a drinking game, where everytime the fair and balanced MSNBC gives Dear Leader a pass for something W. would have been savaged form you do a shot. When they ignore Dear Leader altogether because Rush Limbaugh sneezed, take two shots.

Instead, let’s focus on the fuzzy math and accounting tricks that the Obama Campaign said they weren’t going to use, and even attacked George Bush and John McCain for (do a shot). So sayeth the former Speaker of ‘da House…

Mark Sanford to Democrats: Bring It!

“In less than three weeks in office, Obama has collected more than $550,000 in back taxes just from cabinet appointments.” - Gov. Mark Sanford

None of us are entirely sure what he has planned for 2012, but Mark Sanford sure is getting his name out there. The South Carolina Governor has been the most out spoken critic for the crap sandwich some people call stimulus, and is being attacked accordingly just like everyone else who dissent against Dear Leader.

Attacks have ranged from basic partisan bickering to insinuations of racism, and now the Democrat National Committee is getting involved…

“Mark Sanford is putting his personal ambition ahead of the people of South Carolina by cow-towing to the Rush Limbaugh-led, obstructionist wing of the Republican Party,” said Democratic National Committee Communications Director Brad Woodhouse. “Now is not the time to politicize these practical steps to create jobs in South Carolina and across the country. Governor Sanford should stop playing politics and work with leaders from both parties who want to use the economic recovery funds to help create jobs, fix our schools, reform our health care system, make America energy independent, and lay the foundation for long-term growth in the 21st Century.”

Episode V: The Republicans Strike Back

First thing, congrats to Amanda Carpenter, who I steal a lot of my stuff from (properly credited, of course), on her new gig at the Washington Times. :-)

If you’re like me, and if you’re reading this, I can only assume we at least share similar political leanings, hearing the media say that the Republicans only say no and have no ideas, while ignoring all the Republicans who have plenty of ideas, makes you want to wild out and get violent. Contrary to popular opinion, having an idea that differs from what Dear Leader thinks doesn’t mean you don’t have one.

Apparently the Republicans are mad as hell aboot this too and aren’t going to take it any more. How mad are they? They held not one but TWO different press conferences to say so…

Mark Sanford Sucks

You can’t possibly think that, with articles like this, I honestly think Mark Sanford sucks. C’mon, you know that I know that you know that I know that you know I’m only clownin’.

We’ve heard Governor’s talk aboot rejecting some of the stimulus money, and how they were going to go through in line by line and took the time to consider the long term effects some of the non-stimulus aspects of the stimulus bill would effect their state. Mark Sanford, however, appears to be the first to put your money where his mouth is and officially says no to at least some of it.
